The Japanese Tea Garden smack in the middle of San Antonio. Great relief from the sweltering heat. I’m actually letting the fountain water splash my back!

Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.

Moving to TX

I get to stay with my husband and have a real marriage. :-)

In the middle of packing my apartment— shipped 5 boxes through USPS. 7 more lying in my living room. Don’t know how many more it’ll take to pack the rest of my belongings.

AND I have a broken toe. Waiting for husband to arrive here on Friday and do the rest of the hauling.

I’ll miss Saint Louis & my coworkers & my workplace of 2 years.

I hope the new workplace and new unknown coworkers are good!

On Fucking Writers

A:
...Yes, look at Rushie. He's won Two Booker of the Bookers Awards.
P:
Yeah. He's had lots of women in his life too.
A:
Really?
P (a little unsure, but keeps up the pretense anyway):
Of course. Many women apart from Padmalakshi.
A (with a laugh):
Would you fuck him?
P:
Hah. No way. He's old and balding. I would, however, fuck Paul Auster.
A:
Hehe. Yeah.
P:
Whom would you fuck? Arundhati Roy for sure.
A:
Hehe. No she's too old.
P (interrupting):
Come on! Don't lie.
A:
Seriously. Wouldn't even fuck Kiran Desi. She's ugly.
P:
Yeah. Jhumpa Lahiri for sure.
A:
Oh yeah! She's hot.
P:
Look at us. Both of us are so fucked up. Talking about fucking writers instead of fucking movie stars.
A:
Hehe. Yes, we're totally fucked up for sure.

Another one; American Tourister ad implying that women get ahead on looks alone. This is from 1969.

Found this really old Timex ad from an old National Geographic edition of 1950s. I saved the page in JPEG format because I wanted to share it with everyone. Notice the ad implying how women are never on time. :-\
